Patricia Nash Leather Gonnesa Weekender with Crossbody Strap

I chose the hazelnut color and it’s amazing! In my opinion, this color gives the most Italian leather vibe and rivals some of the ones I’ve seen online in the $700+ range. The leather is soft and has a more matte finish than the other options. The neutral color makes this bag unisex so my son and hubs will use it, too. The bag is carry-on size and will not fit under a plane seat. I will not bring this on flights and risk getting it scuffed in the bins where other people shove their hard-side luggage. This duffel will be purely for road trips. I also own a Nash Milano leather duffel which will be moved up the rotation cycle for flights now that I have the Gonnesa. At the clearance price, I’m not sure why this leather duffel is still here! I’d buy another one if I didn’t already have too many weekender bags.

I really wanted this bag in Foliage which was sold out for such a long time but one popped up I bought it and then it was on backorder forever, really didn't think I was getting it. Surprise it showed up today, arrived in a box with no stuffing just a plastic bag which I thought was weird, but the color is not the same as the other 2 Foliage bags I have which are a vibrant grass green color...this was more like drab pea soup. It's going back. The bag overall seemed very nice except for the weird color.

This is a beautiful weekender bag. I bought the hazelnut because my first choice, foliage green, sold out. It’s so well made, can hold a lot, and looks classy. The hazelnut color complements all of my other Patricia Nash patterns, like Parisian newspaper, European map, seashell, and rainforest. The hazelnut color works for a man to carry too. It is on the heavier side when empty so I’m not sure I would take it on longer or international flights, but great for quick trips, road trips, gym, work, etc. I like the double zip on top, but wish the pocket on front also had a double zip entry. I also wish the zipper pulls would accommodate a luggage lock in case an airline makes you check the bag or when carrying it at a conference. Sometimes you have to leave your bags and coats in a room or at a hotel lobby before hotel check- in or after check-out. The bigger Patricia Nash travel pieces should automatically come with zipper pulls where locks can be used. Patricia Nash should make a TSA approved lock in the shape of her logo for her bags. That way the locks would complement the style of the bags and can look like charms or jewelry on the bags!

I was fortunate enough to catch the Gonnesa on sale, and I could not be more pleased. It looks and feels so luxurious. I was so proud to carry it on my recent Sister's Weekend getaway. It was the perfect size for my 3 day/night trip as I was able to fit everything in its generous compartment. I was even able to include the coordinating Ilaria hanging bag. The outside zippered pocket was great for packing my extra shoes.
